Event Overview:

Based on "Return to Center: Simple Strategies to Navigate Distress, Depression and Disconnection", which garnered the 2024 CCPA Canadian Counselling Book Award, participants will be able to:

Explain basic principles of the Polyvagal Theory in everyday language
Identify signs of emotional safety and distress in themselves and others.
Map their own nervous system states (Charged, Give Up, Centered).
Apply at least 3 strategies to return to a centered state and foster emotional safety.

Meet Your Presenter:

With an academic background marked by a BA in Psychology and an MA in Clinical and Humanistic Psychology, Patricia Morgan keynote speaker draws from her decades of multifaceted professional roles. Her career includes work as an Early Childhood Educator, College Instructor, Family Counsellor, Group Facilitator, EAP provider, and Career Counsellor.

Patricia Morgan’s affiliations include the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and she is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) as well as a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS). Her commitment to advancing the professionalism of speakers is reflected in her mentorship efforts, notably the Fast Track program for emerging professional speakers.

Patricia Morgan speaker Canada has authored several notable books and hundreds of published articles, reaching a wide audience through her writing, workshops, and presentations. Her core mission continues to be equipping people to navigate distress, foster strong relationships, and build lasting emotional well-being.
