About the Presenters

Dr. Kathy Offet-Gartner is a Registered Psychologist and the newly appointed Regional Advocacy Lead at the CCPA. Her counselling research, teaching and practice focuses on strengths-based, culturally informed career-life development.

Leighton Tebay comes to counselling with a background in self-employment and non-profit work.  Leighton founded Cairis Counselling in Saskatoon and finished his Counselling degree in 2020.  During his practicum he found working with trauma compelling and specializes in using Internal Family Systems.   He is deeply informed by his experience raising two neurodivergent children, one diagnosed with ADHD and ASD and another with ADHD.  Raising an Autistic child helped prepare him for the tender work of counselling as learned many hard lessons about being sensitive to overwhelm and understanding how our culture and environment can make thriving more difficult.

Alexandria Kennedy completed her masters of counselling in 2023 while also pursuing further education in ADHD and autism. Alex works with kids, teens and adults with ADHD and/or autism and helps them find accommodations, self-understanding, and self-compassion. Alex learned of her own neurodivergence late in life while raising kids with ADHD and other learning differences. Trying to understand her kids better inspired a 6-year deep dive into learning about these different neurotypes. Now Alex uses her counselling role to help others build a life that fits their needs rather than diminishing themselves to fit in with what the world expects of them.
