COMPLEX ETHICAL SCENARIOS FOR SUPERVISORS: PANEL DISCUSSION

In this January Circle, attendees will be presented with some supervision ethical scenarios to work on in small groups. Questions will be posed to guide the small group discussion. An ethics panel will lead the discussion in the whole group. Each member of the ethics panel will have a lens from which to discuss the scenarios: Legal/Regulatory lens, Cultural/Relational or a Supervisory/Documentation lens. The ethics panel will not to provide “the answer,” but to:

·      Model ethical reasoning

·      Illuminate blind spots

·      Bring humility, nuance, and cultural awareness

·      Emphasize public protection and supervisee support

·      Demonstrate defensible supervisory decision-making

Facilitator: Blythe Shepard
