Webinar:

Neuroscientific research is exploding, and increasingly it is finding patterns of brain behaviour which are related to specific types of mental illness. These “phenotypes” elucidate the brain activities which can be adjusted to alleviate symptoms of illnesses such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD. Neuromodulation is an umbrella term which includes different types of approaches to adjust/alter brain activity. These include auditory and visual entrainment, dire and alternating current stimulation, pulsed electro-magnetic field stimulation, infra-red light stimulation (photo-biomodulation), and neurofeedback.
Specific Goals:
 Identify socio-political-cultural changes that have impacted the study and awareness of the brain and brain-body connection
 Describe the recording of an EEG (electroencephalogram) and its relationship to a quantitative EEG (QEEG)
 Describe the typical QEEG characteristics of common mental illnesses
 List at least 3 types of bio/neuro-modulation
 Outline the referral decision-making process
 Note the consideration for adding neuromodulation to your practice
