Kafui Sawyer is the founder and Executive Director of Joy Health and Research Centre based in Ottawa, Canada. The goal of Joy Health and Research Centre is to promote resiliency and social emotional life skills for individuals, families, schools and faith communities and to assess and treat mental illness. Kafui is also a licensed and accredited partner with Pathways Health and Research Centre based in Australia. Her accreditation with Pathways, gives her the right to train and research in prevention programs such as the Adult Resilience Program and the FRIENDS anxiety management programs in Canada and the US. 

Workshop summary:

The workshop will highlight our understanding of resilience and how we have come to appreciate this phenomenon through our own development across our lifespan.  Throughout this workshop, we will learn practical resilience skills that are reflected in the four areas of life and how we can integrate these skills in clinical practice with our clients and with ourselves.
