Join Registered Psychotherapist Cordelia Huxtable to explore this quickly emerging field of climate aware therapy. She’ll give an overview of current clinical approaches to climate counselling/therapy; working with anxiety, denial/disavowal and anger; and integrating values from climate justice. Cordelia will also focus on the relational aspects of climate aware therapy, exploring challenges around managing our own emotions while supporting others.
This session is aimed at those who are curious about climate aware therapy, relatively new to the field and would like to know more about what it looks like in practice. Expect to leave with high-level information, ideas for self-exploration and resources for further learning.

 

Biography:

Cordelia Huxtable (M.Psyc, G. Dip. Psyc) is a Registered Psychotherapist practicing psychodynamic, trauma-informed and climate-aware psychotherapy. She is the Ontario co-cordinator for the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America. Hailing from Aotearoa New Zealand, she now has a private practice in Toronto, on Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation land..
