Event Overview:

The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) is continuing its work to strengthen meaningful First Nation, Métis, and Inuit representation and engagement within the Association.

As part of this work, CCPA is exploring the development of a First Nation, Métis, and Inuit self-identification policy. The intention of this work is to ensure that decisions moving forward are informed by the perspectives and experiences of members.

CCPA recognizes that identity, belonging, and community connection are deeply personal and often complex. For that reason, this work is being approached with care and with a commitment to listening.

Members are warmly invited to join a Member Town Hall hosted by the CCPA First Nation Director together with members of the Indigenous Initiatives team. The purpose of this gathering is to share the context behind why CCPA is exploring a self-identification approach and to create space for members to share reflections, questions, and considerations that may help guide this work.

The session will begin with a short overview, followed by open conversation. Depending on participation, smaller discussion spaces may be offered to support dialogue.

This is an early-stage conversation intended to listen and learn from members as this work continues to take shape.

All First Nations, Inuit, and Métis members are welcome to attend.
