This workshop combines methods around diversity, inter-sectionality, Indigenous counselling and creative arts therapy with an interactive experiential learning approach.    Some specific methods that will be explored are:  the sacred hoop and the medicine wheel, circle of courage, nature therapy, phototherapy, bibliotherapy, and art therapy.

Dr. Honoré France is from the Ani-yun-wiwa First Nation and a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership studies.  He primarily teaches courses in diversity, group processes, and creative arts therapy.  His current research and teaching interests are reconciliation and residential schools, cross-cultural issues, eco-psychology, and spirituality. He has presented over 80 scholarly papers in North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Australia and Asia; published over eighty articles and studies; and has written several books on counselling issues and practices including Diversity, Culture and Counselling: A Canadian Perspective, 2nd Edition (Brush Education). He is presently the Managing Editor International Satir Journal. He is currently finishing a book titled Cultural Creative Arts Therapy for Groups
