Event Overview:

ACTA’s Unregulated Counselling Workforce Survey is now live, and we are asking for your support in promoting it to your Alberta members. This survey is intended for all counsellors practicing in Alberta who are not yet regulated. It closes March 24, 2026.

Who should fill out this survey?:

If you practice in Alberta and completed the earlier draft version of this survey, you will need to complete it again. We removed all previous responses after incorporating the valuable feedback we received and are now collecting fresh data.

To be clear:

This is an Alberta workforce survey of practicing counsellors, not a survey limited to “active members” of ACTA. We are seeking responses from individuals who are currently delivering counselling services in Alberta, regardless of membership status with any particular organization.

Please also feel free to share this within other professional groups and networks you participate in to help broaden reach.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would:

Circulate it to members who practice in Alberta; or

Tailor the message to specify that counsellors holding your certification and working in Alberta are encouraged to participate; and
Share through newsletters, email lists, and social media channels as appropriate
You are welcome to adapt the messaging to reflect your followers. Our shared goal is strong participation so the data accurately reflects the size, scope, and realities of the unregulated counselling workforce in Alberta.

Robust data will strengthen strategic regulatory influence, workforce planning, and future policy discussions.

We also encourage you to share information about the upcoming sessions related to this initiative and invite your Alberta members to attend.
