Description:

Co-Dependence, formerly referred to Enabling, is not simply experienced by people living with addictions. It refers to toxic relationships of all kinds. Counselors can assist clients in re-creating their relationships into healthier, dependent-free connections. We will look at the definition of
co-dependence and address serious repercussions resulting from living in a co-dependent
relationship.

Biography:

Shirley Soleil-Day, counsellor and advocate, lives in Aylesford, NS with her husband, Eddy. She has worked in the private sector for 43+ years. Besides her work as a counselor, Shirley is an author, historian and researcher. She founded and was Executive Director of the Invisible Disabilities Association of Canada (IDACan) f or 15 years.

Shirley has written many articles on disabilities, poverty and mental illness, and advocacy, and is researching material for her book on psychopathy.
