Professional Development Workshop

Treating Panic Disorder

December 4, 2021 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. ET (10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. AT)

Offered virtually on Zoom

The Nova Scotia Chapter is planning a workshop entitled: Treating Panic Disorder. This 1.5 hour workshop will be led by David Renouf and is offered via Zoom. It will have 1.5 pre-approved CECs from CCPA.

Workshop content:

Clients presenting with spontaneous panic attacks are not uncommon. Etiology varies and treatment is challenging but not complicated. We will look at the paradox of panic disorder, possible contributing factors, and tools that provide a path to management or the resolution of symptoms.

This will be a 1 - 1.5 hour virtual presentation. There will be a didactic phase and an open question/answer time. Counsellors and psychotherapists are invited to present their experiences in treating this potentially disabling condition; good, bad and in-between.

About our presenter:

David has been a Mental Health Counselor in New Hampshire for 32 years as an adult out-patient clinician at a clinic, and in private practice for the last 12 years. Areas of concentration are anxiety disorders, pain control, hypnotherapy, insomnia and couples counseling.

David has published 3 papers on clinical hypnosis in: General Dentistry, Jan. 1985, International Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, Vol.1, 1993 and Journal of Psychosomatic Research, Vol 45, 1998.

David continues to mentor colleagues learning imagery-enhanced CBT.
