Description:

Young people have a particular relationship with our changing climate, and are facing the reality of this crisis in direct and existentially challenging ways. It can be difficult to know how to approach climate-related conversations and emotions with the youth we know and work with, in both intergenerational settings and among our peers. We will come together in this session and explore:

  • An overview of research on climate distress in youth;
  • Interventions and exercises for deepening climate-related emotional resilience and engagement in youth;
  • Making space for our own emotions related to the youth we know and work with;
  • An experiential exercise to integrate emotional awareness and action;
  • A brief Q&A.
