Event Overview:

Join Dr. Elizabeth Bowering, Psychology faculty member, Mount Saint Vincent University and Christine Frigault, Career Counsellor, Dalhousie University as they overview this recently published study which demonstrated increased core competency development and career readiness in participants. 
 
Participant Learning Outcomes: 

  • Understand the findings from a recent research study that assessed the effectiveness of the group that may be helpful in gaining institutional support for offering a similar group on their campus 
  • Design a career group for graduating students based on evidence-based career development and experiential learning theories and frameworks 
  • Link different career services programs together to help students make the most of various offerings 
  • Learn about existing and new activities that can be offered within career development groups 

Meet Your Presenters:

Elizabeth Bowering is a long-time faculty member in the Department of Psychology, Mount St Vincent University. Being committed to supporting best practices in university teaching and student learning, she has researched topics including service learning, multiple choice assessment, and faculty career development. 
 
Christine Frigault is a professional counsellor at Dalhousie University Student Health and Wellness. She has been a post-secondary career counsellor for over 25 years and is a long time member of CCPA, currently serving as treasurer of the CCPA Career Counsellor's chapter.
