Counselling During a Time of Planetary and Political Crisis: An Experiential Engagement with Multiplicity and Complexity in Therapeutic Work

April 28, 2025

7 pm - 8:30 pm ET/ 4 pm - 5:30 pm PT/ 5 pm - 6:30 pm MT/8 pm - 9:30 pm AT

EVENT OVERVIEW

In the unfolding reality of the climate, biodiversity and equity crisis, coupled with rising social and political threats, what do we as counselors and psychotherapists have to offer our clients in the face of this horrifying "metacrisis?" How might we engage creatively together as we consider these enormous challenges? In this experiential workshop, Dr. Wendy Greenspun will help us expand our mental health framework to encompass various lenses and viewpoints, utilizing clinical case material to consider multiple impacts on our clients and how to integrate these complexities into our understanding. In participatory breakout rooms, we will play with metaphors, the unnamed and the collective as part of trying out new ways forward in our work.
