Event Overview:

This event is for SK Chapter counsellors. The first half will be presented by Dawn Wilson Horner and speak on the topic of Self-Care for Compassion Fatigue as it relates directly to counselling in Saskatchewan as a CCPA counsellor, especially in the cold of winter. The second hour will be small groups led by members of the board of the Saskatchewan chapter and meant more as a roundtable and support group where we make practical suggestions and plans with the members.


Meet Your Presenter:

Dawn Horner Wilson is a person-centered/integrative counselling therapist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She is a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychological Association (CCPA) as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC). She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which she has found to be effective in the treatment of PTSD and CPTSD, along with many other mental health issues.
