Event Overview:

1. Meet and Greet - 30 minutes

2. An overview of the current regulatory landscape for counselling therapy in Manitoba and the ongoing efforts toward professional regulation. Presented by Melody Newcomb, Chair of the Federation of Associations of Counselling Therapists of Manitoba (FACT-MB). This presentation will explore why regulation matters for counsellors and psychotherapists, outline the work FACT-MB has undertaken to advance this process, and discuss current advocacy initiatives, including a province-wide letter-writing campaign. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the regulatory context and how professional engagement can support the future of counselling therapy in Manitoba - 30 minutes

3. “Practitioner Mental Health” - How we take care of ourselves. Presented by various CCPA MB Chapter members and board members – 1 hour Participants are asked to share one thing under any of these prompts:

Something you’ve learned the hard way about sustainability in this field
A habit or boundary that made a real difference
A book, a podcast, or resources that helped (professional or not)
Bookkeeping, admin, or organizational tools that reduce stress
How you structure your private practice to protect your energy
A supervision or consultation practice you rely on
A “pearl of wisdom” passed down by a mentor
Social or community activities that keep you grounded
Tiny daily practices that actually stick (not aspirational ones)

Or your topic/prompt/idea… The list is endless

Each participant will have approximately 5-7 minutes to present. If you are interested in presenting, please email directly with your name and topic to Charulata Gupta <charugupta2992@gmail.com>, so she can keep a tally.

The venue also has a setup for a projector and a screen. In your email, please confirm if you want to use it.
