Exploring the History Behind the Intergenerational Traumatization of Canada’s Indigenous People

 

This is a 3-Part Event which will take place on:

 Oct 24th (1 - 3 pm CST)

Nov 7th (1 - 3 pm CST)

 Nov 14th (1- 2 pm CST)

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL EVENT TIMES ARE IN CENTRAL STANDARD TIME. 

CEC’s: 5 (Participants MUST attend all the 3 parts)

Cost: $50 for 3 parts for CCPA - MB Chapter members

          $75 for 3 parts for CCPA - non-MB Chapter members

Introduction to The Indian Act, Examination of the Residential School System, United Nations Declaration on the Rights of      Indigenous Peoples, Canadian Truth & Reconciliation Commission, The National Inquiry into MMIWG2S and the 60's Scoop.

Nov 7th (1 - 3 pm CST)

Sharing personal narratives from a Residential School Survivor along with time for questions.

Presenter: Elder Raymond Mason

 

Nov 14th (1- 2 pm CST)

Steps towards Reconciliation.

Presenter: Kym Edinborough-Capuska – CCPA Indigenous Chapter Member-at-Large
